Nature Play Timber Care

We have a timber nature playground installed, and the timber is starting to grey. What is the best product to use to prevent this?

Answer:

To minimise weathering degradation, it is advisable to apply an oil treatment to all timber surfaces regularly. A product such as ‘Intergrain Natural Decking Oil’ will assist in retaining moisture in the timber, reducing the risk of drying out and cracking.

The frequency of treatment is variable, depending on the location, the volume of use, and site climatic conditions (potentially reapplication required every 6 – 12 months).

If a re-oiling maintenance regime is not implemented, the timber will naturally cure over time and ‘grey off’ in colour, which should not impact the overall integrity of the product.
